It is Monday morning here in Dengkil. It's a lovely 27 degrees C here (80 or so Fahrenheit?) and overcast. Today we'll be running some errands and visiting with some of Dhan's cousins. Then it's time to pack up for our early flight to Mulu.
Yesterday, we toured KL. It seemed small to me, but I think that's only because it is less dense than Chinese cities. Dhan gave me a nice tour by car (somewhat by accident) and we went shopping at Times Square and Mid Valley Megamall. Times Square is not a square at all, but a large 10 story tall shopping mall. It was a lot of fun to walk around and window shop. Mid Valley was even bigger and a little more modern. Both of them put the mall of America to shame! For dinner, we went to a Japanese buffet with Dr Rao, Tzer Ying, and Dhan's aunt, uncle and three cousins. It was very nice to meet them and the food was excellent, although I wasn't quite brave enough for the sushi.
The day before was a little more relaxed. We got our Malaysian cell phone numbers, saw the farm, and had a wonderful lunch that Dr Rao and Tzer Ying made. In the evening we toured Putrajaya, which is a newer city that houses the national government. The architecture and the lights were beautiful.
I think that's all for now! I'll report in again after Mulu sometime Thursday evening or Friday morning.
