Oh hey!

Well, I guess it's time for me to write a new entry because blogger has changed their layout again!  Here's what's happened since I've been gone:

• We moved to Bellevue, WA
• I started working for Microsoft
• Dhan started at Amazon
• Dhan became a permanent resident

I have been working for Microsoft for over 8 months.  It has been a wild ride, but I have been lucky to have great coworkers and interesting projects.  Sometimes the projects have been a little too interesting, leading to long hours and crankiness.  Generally, the people make up for it, and I'm happy to say I am never bored.

Dhan got a double Christmas present of a green card and a job offer.  He's been enjoying work so far, although he misses playing with servers in person.  Instead of  having the servers down the hall, they are all over the world!  It has been a fun opportunity for him and I know he is looking forward to new challenges as he gets more involved in the team.

Most important of all though was the move to Washington state.  The best things about living here:

• The food
• The outdoor adventures
• Mild climate

For balance, the worst things are:

• The dark winters
• Lack of snow
• Sales tax (and general mark up of everything)

Overall, we love it here, and are still exploring new places and activities.  More on that next time!
